NHS Services
As part of our commitment to doing everything we can to improve all aspects of health and well-being, Whitestone Surgery offers a proactive Annual Health MOT in the month of your birth for general health reviews and lifestyle advice. The MOTs are tailored to specific patient needs and can be carried out by telephone or face-to-face appointment at the surgery.

Whitestone Surgery is one of the few GP surgeries which offer an in-house midwifery service for expectant mothers.

Our chronic disease management is of the highest quality. As part of our Annual Health MOT, we produce a care plan with our asthmatic patients, proven to improve symptom control. We provide advice on how best to manage your condition, understand new medication and improve inhaler technique. Our surveys show that our patients are better able to self-manage asthma, seek advice, improve their quality of life, reduce complications and prevent hospital admissions.

For a fee, mobile phlebotomists now offer blood tests in the comfort of your own home.
A confidential, discreet cervical smear service is offered during our nurse-led clinics. It is recommended that routine smear tests be carried out on women aged 25-49 every 3 years and women aged 50-64 every 5 years. The invitations are sent out via The National Screening Service.

The flu vaccination is given free on the NHS as an annual injection to:
- adults over the age of 18 at risk of flu with an underlying health condition (including everyone over 65)
- children aged six months to two years at risk of flu with an underlying health condition such as long term heart or respiratory disease
- pregnant woman any stage of pregnancy
The flu vaccine is also offered as a nasal spray annually to children aged 2-18 years at risk of flu with an underlying long term condition and also to healthy children aged 2-4 years.

These are routine vaccinations that are offered free of charge on the NHS to all babies and children in the UK. Childhood vaccination appointments are available daily; please speak to reception for appointments.

If you suffer with long-term or chronic pain, then our pain management protocols found in our routine GP & nurse-led clinics, may be of significant value to you. Treatment of pain is often further enhanced by physiotherapy and hypnotherapy. Both these additional services are now available at Whitestone Surgery. Groundbreakers Allotment Club in conjunction with Greenmoor Community Allotments, a sensory garden project. Do you love your outdoor spaces, could you offer support or do you have a friend who misses their garden space?

A project delivering a new vision for participation in the community of Nuneaton and Bedworth. It’s aim is to identify the needs and requirements of residents in terms of reducing loneliness and isolation and creating better health and wellbeing.

POSITIVE VIBES HEALTHY LIVES: Exploring together health and wellbeing activities for our 12 to 16 year olds.
We are very fortunate to have working with us, Hannah King, an MSc Psychology graduate, who is interested in working with this age group. Hannah has offered to work in association with our award-winning Patient Participation Group, to gather feedback from our younger patient population about activities which could be offered in the community.
