Due to the success of the Carers’ Café, we have had to look for premises other than the surgery to host this successful group. We have also had a name change. We are now Caring Café and as a trial we had our first event at the Whitestone Community Centre on Tuesday 17th July. Our guest was Rebecca Friar of Hawkwise Falconry works who brought along three owls to illustrate her talk on Birds of Prey.
Becky’s knowledge and enthusiasm for this group of birds were infectious and members quickly engaged and were captivated. They enjoyed having the Owls landing on their gloved hands and were thrilled by this experience.
Dr Simon found some time from his busy schedule to join us.
Becky was thanked for her enjoyable talk and was able to join members for tea and cake afterwards. The Caring Café has grown from strength to strength and this was another successful event thanks to the dedication of the team.
