We had an exciting start for 2023 as we ended 2022 on a high note with the announcement that Cheryl Simon was a finalist for the General Practice awards Practice Manager of the Year.
The surgery staff and the extraordinary leaders of Whitestone Surgery’s Patient Participation Group (WS-PPG) were commended at the Royal College of General Practitioner Annual Primary Care Conference & Exhibition 2023 as research pioneered by Dr Simon and our award-winning WS-PPG was presented by Lawrence Dawson formerly from Oxford University’s Centre of Evidence Based Medicine. The practice team delivered another outstanding achievement in 2023. Publicly available data published by the Coventry & Rugby Medicines Optimisation Team showed that Whitestone surgery is the highest performing practice for Warwickshire North Place for patient safety in management. This extraordinary achievement is a direct result of team work dedicated to improving the services for our patient population. The Caring Café has continued to grow in membership and they enjoyed a relaxing afternoon tea on the canal in Stratford upon Avon in August. Open to Carers in the Whitestone community, the Caring Café meets the first and third Thursday of each month from 1.30pm to 3:30pm at the The Whitestone, Meadowside, Nuneaton CV11 6NF.
We had a fantastic end of year Christmas party at the Whitestone Pub on 14th December. This was one of the highest attended events ever hosted by the PPG. Thank you to Pat College for all the hard work in organising it. The afternoon was packed with plenty of activities and everyone had an enjoyable time.
